Since 2002, Dr. Beth Shubin Stein’s practice has provided state-of-the-art orthopedic care to patients from the tri-state area, as well as all regions of the country, with extremely successful outcomes for their patients. Dr. Shubin Stein and her staff are committed to helping patients move past their injury and pain and return to their active lifestyle.

Our Staff
Erika Office Manager & Surgical Coordinator
Erika joined the office in 2011 and is our office manager/surgical coordinator. She attended Hunter College and Mandl School of Allied Health for Healthcare Administration. Before she joined our office she worked as a parasitology tech for Antech Diagnostic. In her down time she enjoys baking and DIY home projects. Erika is from Queens, NY.
Danny Medical Secretary
Danny joined our practice in May 2017 and is our medical secretary. He graduated from New York City College of Technology in 2016 and studied law. Before coming HSS, Danny worked as a procedural assistant at New York Spine Medicine Center. He participated in varsity football, basketball, and track in high school which stimulated his interest in sports medicine. He also coaches youth soccer to children between the ages of 2-9 on weekends for SocRoc. Danny hopes to one day become an X-ray/MRI tech.
Sarah Nurse Practitioner
Sarah E. Tryon is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in orthopedics and Sports Medicine. She works together with Dr. Beth Shubin Stein in the Patellofemoral Center at Hospital for Special Surgery. Sarah provides care through all patient settings.
Joe Physician Assistant(PA)
Joe joined our practice in 2018. He is a Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with over 10 years of experience in Orthopedics. He graduated from Touro College School of Health Sciences and additionally holds a degree in Psychology from St John’s University. He has worked with the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service at HSS for 8 years. Prior to that, he worked at Lenox Hill Hospital in Orthopedics as well as Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Emergency Medicine. Joe grew up in Queens and currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two kids. He loves playing golf and spending time with his family in Prospect Park.
Simone Research Coordinator
Simone joined the office in 2017 and is the research coordinator for Dr. Shubin Stein. She graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2017 with a double major in Medicine, Health, & Society and Neuroscience. She is originally from Chicago, IL where she grew up playing ice hockey and lacrosse. Her love for hockey is what originally drew her to sports medicine. In her free time, she enjoys reading and practicing yoga. Simone plans to eventually attend medical school.
Kyra Athletic Trainer
Kyra joined our team in 2021, bringing extensive experience with sideline coverage into the clinic to help patients navigate their recovery. Kyra’s passion for injury prevention and rehab have successfully aided both Olympians and weekend warriors back to their activities of choice. As athletic trainer for Dr. Shubin Stein’s team, she combines her knowledge of acute injury care, post-op care, and biomechanics to assist in patients’ full return to activity. Kyra currently lives in Brooklyn and enjoys living an active outdoor lifestyle.
